The services administration system and drivers portal enables the planning/ operations department of a passenger road transportation company, configure and define all those points related with the start up and running of the service.

The process of starting up and running the service is divided into three stages: the definition of the offer, the definition of th work plan that covers the offer and theallocation of resources for the work plan.

gestionServicios

  • The definition of the offer is based on an analysis of demand, and is made up of all the issued tickets or journeys that the company must do. The system manages the physical side as well as the logic of the transport network; in other words, it includes the stops and journeys that make up the different routes, as well as the related features that depend on the route itself: journey times, names, boarding times, timetables, etc.

  • In the definition of the work plan, the system creates a service sheet, with the operations that a driver and a vehicle must carry out during a workday: when the service begins, when the service ends, the total number of journeys to be made, the operational and refueling stops during the service.
The service sheets that make up a work plan are put together while trying to minimize concepts such as overtime, allowances, night shifts, empty transfers, as well as the collection of resources to use in the completion of this work plan.
  • In the allocation of resources for the work plan, the worksheets are organized into work orders that can be arranged by sector to be allocated to each driver for a given period of time. This allocation can be subject to fixed criteria or done directly by the planning department. For example, drivers could be allocated according to their seniority, supervising, in any case, that no service is left unallocated.

With this work plan allocation the driver’s service is completely planned. The planning can be done for long periods, such as monthly and weekly, or it can be modified daily to resolve incidents such as absences due to illness or overbooking vehicles thus properly managing uncovered and extra services that can arise.

The system also makes it possible to classify drivers as main service drivers, reserved drivers or immediate replacement drivers, as well as planning their vacations.

Drivers are informed of allocations through the drivers’ portal, that allows professionals to consult internal information from the Internet and through mobile devices. Using this portal, drivers can also carry out other activities: reporting a change of residence to the company, check communiqués, vacation schedules or check the overtime they’ve done.
